Earlier today, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Solomon Brako Kusi, distributed the birds (Nkoko Nkitinkiti) to selected beneficiaries at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly. This initiative (under the Feed Ghana Programme) signifies a major stride in strengthening local poultry production.

In his address, He emphasized the importance of properly caring for and safeguarding the birds to ensure the initiative achieves its intended objectives. I highlighted that this intervention is aimed at reducing the importation of poultry products into the country, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the Ghanaian cedi and boosting our economy. Additionally, it seeks to enhance local food production to feed the municipality and the nation as a whole.

He further encouraged the youth to take advantage of such opportunities by venturing into poultry farming as a viable means of reducing unemployment and promoting self-sufficiency.

He express the Assembly's sincere gratitude to the President of Ghana, H.E. John D. Mahama, for this initiative.
